ppl vs. Nimble: personal CRM or team relationship CRM for your AI

Compare ppl and Nimble MCP for agent connection, permissions, relationship records and who each one is built for.

Updated October 13, 2026 · ppl team

Nimble and ppl both let an AI assistant work with relationship records through MCP. Nimble focuses on business contacts and sales workflows. ppl focuses on one person’s relationships, commitments and follow-ups.

What you need the record to do

Nimble brings together contact records, deals and team workflows. Its MCP connection lets a supported assistant find contacts, review relationship history, add notes, log calls and create follow-up tasks. It can also search deals by stage, owner or amount. See Nimble’s documented MCP features.

ppl keeps personal contacts, notes, birthdays, journal entries, reminders, tasks, calls and gifts in one place. Its web app lets you inspect the same records your agent uses, review requested work in Inbox and manage agent access.

Connecting your assistant

Nimble’s setup guide describes adding https://app.nimble.com/mcp as a connector, then completing authentication. It provides instructions for Claude and ChatGPT; check the guide against your client and plan. Read Nimble’s connection instructions.

ppl uses https://withppl.com/mcp. Compatible clients can connect through browser OAuth. An agent can also start a connection request and give you an approval link; you sign in or create an account and review the requested permissions. Some clients require separate credential configuration. See ppl’s setup options.

Permissions and review

Check which account and permissions your assistant will use before connecting either product. A successful connection is not a reason to grant every available permission.

In ppl, scoped credentials limit access, and My agents provides activity, pause and revocation controls. Required approvals stay visible in Inbox. Message drafts remain subject to recipient and connection permissions; preparing a draft does not mean it has been sent.

Try a real follow-up

If you manage a business pipeline, try Nimble with a meeting note, a follow-up task and a deal lookup. If you want help staying in touch with the people in your life, try ppl with a few contacts, a saved conversation and a reminder. In either case, ask your assistant a question that depends on the saved note and check its answer against the record.

ppl’s hosted beta is free for up to 1,000 contacts, with no credit card. Check ppl’s availability and Nimble’s current plans before deciding.
