ppl vs. Keepsake: personal CRM connections and relationship records

Compare ppl and Keepsake for agent connection, permissions, relationship records and what each covers today.

Updated October 13, 2026 · ppl team

Keepsake and ppl both let an AI assistant work with relationship records. Both offer a hosted MCP endpoint. The useful comparison is how each connects, what it stores and how you want to work with your records.

Connecting your assistant

Keepsake recommends its remote HTTP connection at https://app.keepsake.place/api/mcp, using an API key from your Keepsake account. It also offers a local connector through its npm package. Running that connector locally does not mean you are hosting the CRM yourself. Read Keepsake’s connection instructions.

ppl offers a hosted MCP endpoint at https://withppl.com/mcp. Compatible clients can use browser OAuth; the agent connect flow creates an approval request and returns a scoped credential after you approve it. Client configuration varies, and some clients need a token configured separately. See ppl’s connection options.

Working with your records

Keepsake documents contacts, companies, interactions, tasks, notes, daily intentions and tags. Its notes include comments attached to a passage, which may be useful if your relationship work involves reviewing written material. Review Keepsake’s documented tools.

ppl combines a web app with agent access to contacts, notes, journal entries, reminders, tasks, calls, birthdays and gifts. It provides relationship briefings and memory search, plus an Inbox for reviewing agent work and messages. You can inspect, pause or revoke an agent’s access in My agents.

Choosing with a small trial

Add a few contacts to each product. Save a note after a conversation, create a follow-up and ask your assistant a question that depends on that note. Check the answer against the record, then try correcting the note. Compare the connection process and the controls available for the permissions you intend to grant.

ppl’s hosted beta is free for up to 1,000 contacts, with no credit card. Check current availability.
