ppl vs. Mob: two hosted personal CRMs for you and your AI
Compare ppl and Mob for agent connection, permissions, relationship records and data portability.
Updated October 13, 2026 · ppl team
Mob and ppl both offer a hosted personal CRM, a web app and an MCP connection for AI assistants. Either lets you keep relationship records outside a single chat. The choice comes down to the routines and controls you need.
Connecting and using the app
Mob publishes a Streamable HTTP endpoint at https://mobcrm.au/mcp with OAuth and PKCE. Its web app includes contact management, reminders, search and an installable PWA. It also advertises birthday and follow-up push notifications. See Mob’s features and connection details.
ppl offers Streamable HTTP at https://withppl.com/mcp, with browser OAuth for compatible clients and an agent approval flow for scoped credentials. You can work through your assistant or use the web app to review records, requests and message drafts. Read ppl’s connection instructions.
Records and access controls
Mob lists relationships, notes, addresses, tags, reminders, tasks, gifts and debts. It documents imports from Monica, vCard and Google Contacts, along with export support. Its hosted beta has no contact cap, and it offers a self-hosted option.
ppl covers contacts, notes, journal entries, birthdays, reminders, tasks, calls and gifts. My agents shows access and activity, with pause and revocation controls. Supported records have memory history and correction options, while Inbox brings requested work and approvals together. Agent messaging remains subject to connection permissions and required human review.
Try the routine you intend to keep
Use a few contacts whose history you know well. Record a conversation, set a reminder and ask your assistant for a useful follow-up. Then inspect the saved record and test the correction and export options. If phone notifications or self-hosting are essential, include them in your evaluation rather than judging only the assistant’s first response.
ppl’s hosted beta is free for up to 1,000 contacts. Its self-hosted version is coming soon. Check ppl’s current availability.
