Set the ground rules for your AI assistant

Build plain-language instructions for how your assistant should use your personal CRM, save notes and ask before making changes.

Updated October 10, 2026 · ppl team

Your assistant should know what you want it to do with your address book and when to ask first. Start with cautious ground rules, choose the help you want and copy the instructions into a client that supports custom instructions.

No account, token or contact information is needed here. The instructions are built in your browser. They do not connect an assistant or change its permissions.

Choose how your assistant should help

Review these instructions before using them. All versions require explicit approval before sending a message, sharing details or deleting a record.

Connect separately and check the result

Use the ppl agent connection guide to connect a supported client. The hosted MCP address is https://withppl.com/mcp. Review the actual consent screen before approving. Paste instructions into the assistant's instruction settings, not an API key field.

Ask the assistant to find a contact you recognize, then compare the answer with the web app. If you allow notes, ask it to save a small, ordinary detail and check the result. Client support and available tools vary; instructions cannot provide a feature the client or your account does not have.

Instructions are not a security boundary

These words express your preferences. They do not restrict a token, revoke access or guarantee that a model will follow every rule. Manage access in ppl, use only clients you trust and review important changes in the app. Separately connected services such as Gmail and Calendar need their own permission.

A contact note may contain somebody else's words. An assistant should treat that note as information to summarize, rather than as a command to send a message or reveal another person's details. Keep approval decisions in your conversation with the assistant.
